Am I Alone?

Most of my life I have felt alone.
It’s funny how you can have so many people in your life that surround you, are for you… and even love you, yet you are still so lonely.
How you can be in a room full of people that even come up and chat with you, and you go home feeling like something is missing.
When someone dies and hundreds of people show up to their funeral, the first thing I often wonder is, I wonder if they knew, how really loved they were?

A few years back I came across the verse in Deuteronomy where it says that God will never leave us and never forsake us it and I wanted to believe it..
but because it wasn’t real to me, it was just words on a page…
How often do you hear something about God or read it in the Bible, and feel the same way?

So I asked Him to make real to me, His Word.
Lord, if you really do never leave me then show me.
And through revelation, He did.
It was as if everywhere I went, I could feel someone standing right there with me.
As if everything I did was being watched.
No, not the creepy kind of watching, but it was comforting…
It was reassuring.
And when you know he is there, right there, it really does change everything.
It gives you a whole new perspective on his promises.
You begin to stop wondering if He really cares because if he didn’t, He wouldn’t be there.
Normally when you go through things throughout the day, you begin talking to the one who is right there with you.
And then you focus on him because you realize he’s not just some made up fantasy.
Revelation and relationship don’t happen overnight though.
I had my doubts, ups and downs, and hardships just like anyone else does in a relationship.
And then there have even been days and seasons where it felt like he was gone.
Which was confusing at first because it was against everything I believed…
Only to find that my faith was being tested, and then it all made sense again.

We have a real enemy out there, the devil and he prowls around searching for who he may devour.
The devil knows the truth, but he twists it. Just as he did with Adam and Eve and then again in the New Testament with Jesus in the wilderness.
If he can get you to feel, a certain way that goes against truth, then slowly he will devour you.
He’s patient and sneaky.
He will wait until you’re in a desperate situation and then if you don’t know the truth he will begin to whisper lies to you and because you have no strong foundation, you will begin to believe em.
It would have been easy for me to question Scripture, is God really with me like He says he is?
That’s why revelation and time with God is so important.

So I just want to encourage you…
Yes, scripture is old but God still speaks to us thru it. And if you take the time search it with all your heart, it might even scare you how real it is.
We have a God who is ALIVE and so in love with you.
So if there’s anything that you are unsure of, don’t just wish it or think it.. Ask.
ASK HIM TO MAKE IT REAL.
He is waiting. He is listening.
He answers prayer.
