28 May Change Me, Not My Circumstance

Imagine if your life,
which may at times seem upside down, the storms that we endure,
Could be danced in?
In prayer one morning, God showed me a vision of me dancing in the middle of a rainstorm.
I was holding an umbrella over my head and just laughing with Joy, as the rain fell down around me.
Shortly after, God began to walk me through the process.
He began to teach me,
day by day, minute by minute,
how to walk this out.
(Difficult circumstances, not greiving seasons)

Instead of dreading and praying that God would deliver me from my circumstances, I INSTEAD
began to ask Him to make the change inside of me.

Listening for his voice throughout every detail of my day,
Lord, what is going on here and what would you have to say about this?
Step by step, he would lead me into truth for this area.
Obedience, even in the smallest or toughest things he would say,
were my keys to Victory!

Every morning I would go to him, just spending time with him, enjoying Him and praying through the things he would show me.
Sometimes he asks me to do things that are hard for me but in his strength I can do it.
But as I am continually obedient, he changes me from the inside out.
He goes into the deep places and shows me what’s going on. He began to change my character and I begin to experience his.
It just blows me away with the grace and mercy he would Give me, favor in my situations.

I was so tired of being stressed out!
So tired of being guilty for the way that I just reacted!
So tired of the disconnect in my relationships!
So overwhelmed and felt like I was barely getting by in life!
Hearing and believing so many of the enemy’s lies!
Believing that life was just tough and that was that.
I needed peace!
I needed life, & I found it!

Some keys to walking out this new journey are…
First recognizing that you are not walking in the good plan that God has for your life and getting to the place INSIDE, where you want nothing more then the life that he abundantly speaks about!
It’s getting to the place where you are so empty inside and lifeless, and you want nothing more than Him.
It’s being determined that no matter how hard it is to be obedient to His voice, you FOCUS and DECIDE to do it anyways.
IT’S A CHOICE!
It’s DECIDING TO CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE even when you don’t FEEL like it.
It takes DISCIPLINE, and setting time aside for God everyday and at first it will seem like a sacrifice but in the end you can’t live without it!
It’s consistently staying FOCUSED because throughout this process and journey, the enemy will try and throw in DISTRACTIONS to get you off track.
Renewing your mind does not happen overnight. It takes time!
Its knowledge and wisdom as the Lord leads you to things, but it’s also important to set the knowledge aside and listen for the Spirit as he leads you.
God can show you what you could never learn on your own.

There are days where everything inside of me fights to do the opposite of what God asks me to do.
And any time that my flesh would kick and scream,
I would ask God to change my heart and that area.
We can do the Work that God asks us to do but in order to have a good attitude doing it, you need the heart change to go with it.

In the beginning my prayers used to be very much about me and what I wanted, but as God began to do a work in me, they turned into desiring more of what God wanted in me.

I found that in spending my time with God, I was connecting and the intimacy with Him was going beyond what I had ever imagined it would be…
Falling in love, everything falling into place around me, being full and satisfied, joy,
Knowing God’s will versus hearing the enemy’s lies, perspective that blew my mind and God’s life giving voice!
More than anything else I begin to understand God’s feelings for me and how he views me as his child!
I began walking in my destiny.
I began to see obstacles as opportunities.
God is so perfect and exciting and adventurous and he wants to do this for you too!
